Are you the right Alice?

Did anyone catch the reference of Alice in "The Long Hall on the Top Floor"?

Anyone else go see Alice in Wonderland? Thoughts on that movie. It was a lot different than I expected..

  1. I saw it. I'm not going to lie, I'm not a huge fan of Tim Burton but I thought this was definitely a step forward from his Willy Wonka movie. I just have a feeling that he and Tim Burton have a conspiracy to ruin my childhood. First Wonka, then Alice, and I heard a while back they wanted to remake the Incredible Mr. Limpet(Don Knotts as a fish). I won't stand for it.
But the movie wasnt bad at all. The march hare was probably my favorite character which is weird because in the old animated film I always thought of the hare as being very boring and strict much like the rabbit from Winnie the Pooh. For what seemed like a kids movie though, there was a moment involving decapitation near the end of the film that was way too gruesome in my opinion. But overall the movie was pretty fun to watch, I still prefer the animated version and the old live action television series that used to air on Disney right before Gummiebears, but it wasn't horrible.

  2. Speaking of references to "Alice in Wonderland," Kelly Link's "Stone Animals" reminded me of the story, too. There are the rabbits (and plenty of them) that build underground worlds, like the one Alice falls into. I haven't seen the movie, but these two stories seemed similar.

  3. Paul, what do you think of the original Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the one Lewis Carroll wrote and John Tenniel illustrated? All other versions pale in comparison.
