Goblin Market

The ghouls in "The Graveyard Book" reminded me so much of a story called Goblin Market by Christina Rossetti. I think ya'll will like it. The link is the title of this post.

    I love that poem! I came across it while looking for info on Italian vampires (somehow) and I had to add it to my bookmarks.

    How do the ghouls remind you of Rossetti's goblins, Elizabeth? And do you think the resemblance is intentional on Gaiman's part?

    First I was reminded by the talk to food. Both creatures had fantastic food they talked about, and they both begged for the humans to eat it. They both seemed like very scratchy, scurrying, biting little things ! I do not know if he did it on purpose but if he did it worked for me.
